Advanced comms board

The Advanced comms board (ACB) was developed by QuSpin to accelerate the integration of the QTFA/B sensors onto a variety of platforms (UAV, UUV, etc). The advanced comms board provides a ready-made, lightweight, low price option for customers to fast-track data fusion.

ACB highlights:

  • Switching power supply that accepts and conditions +5V to +12V input
  • UART-USB bridge to read data over PC/Raspberry Pi etc.
  • A programmable 32-Bit ARM processor Teensy 3.5 board
  • SD card for data logging
  • GPS (Plug-in)
  • Radio (Plug-in)
  • IMU (plug-in) IMU eval board
  • Direct access to UART data and sensor power
  • Waterproof micro USB connectors
  • Lightweight (~ 18 g)

The free version of the COMMs board has the following features.

  • Switching power supply that accepts and conditions +5V to +12V input
  • UART-USB bridge to read data over PC/Raspberry Pi etc.

Teensy Firmware

The ACB affords the possibility to send the sensor UART data to a teensy. Sending the data to the onboard teensy allows the sensor data to be logged onto a micro SD card. In addition to logging the QTFA data, the teensy can log IMU and GPS data simultaneously. The basic teensy firmware to log such data plus instructions can be downloaded with the links below.
