What HALO does
HALO is QuSpin’s calibration hardware used to establish a reliable reference frame for co-registration: during setup, the sensor array is positioned relative to the HALO calibration coils, and the coils are driven to produce magnetic fields that the software uses to determine each sensor’s precise 3D position and orientation. In the All Tools app, these measurements are loaded directly from your acquisition file, then the workflow preprocesses the data and proceeds to localization, with results reviewable in both a table and an interactive 3D view that can overlay the coordinate axes/reference grid and the HALO coil geometry for immediate visual verification.
QuSpin uses the All Tools Software to support MEG co-registration using HALO data by localizing the sensor array and fiducials within a common coordinate system, providing the geometry needed to align measurement data with the experimental reference frame.

All Tools software
QuSpin All Tools is a desktop application that brings key QuSpin workflows into one streamlined interface—supporting sensor localization, fiducial localization, FIFF file conversion for MNE‑Python, and HFC analysis for noise reduction. The software is designed around a consistent, guided layout with left-side controls and a right-side workspace that includes a timestamped Messages log plus interactive Data Views such as raw plots, results tables, and a 3D model for visual verification. Results can be exported for downstream use (e.g., CSV tables and 3D OBJ scenes), and user defaults can be managed through a settings file to support repeatable, efficient workflows. To get started, click the download link below to retrieve the software ZIP package. Unzip (extract) the file to a convenient location on your computer, then run the included executable—no installation is required. See the video below for a step-by-step demonstration of the download and launch process.
